School Levies
Voters within Bellingham School District boundaries will receive a ballot in the mail after February 20 to replace two expiring levies and continue essential funding for schools.

A four-year operations levy
State and federal funding does not cover the basic, high quality education that our community enjoys. Local levies fund about 20% of the district’s operating budget for:
.
• Instructional Basics
• Class Size & Enhanced Learning
• Transportation, Safety & Health

A four-year technology levy
Washington State does not provide funding for technology in schools, so voters have supported a technology levy to prepare students for the 21st century.

“It’s important to remember the children living in our community are a shared value and responsibility. They are the future generation who will be caring for us and solving our world’s problems. School levies help cover what our community considers the basics of a well-rounded education.”
